Hi, I'm Catherine!
I am from the basically perfect state of Michigan. If you love the four seasons, non-shark-infested waters, and not being attacked by bugs of ungodly size, you would also love Michigan.

As an excited teenager just discovering the art of writing fiction, I thought I knew what I wanted to write. So when God told me my purpose in writing should be to share the gospel, I figured I could add that in somewhere. Today the thought sounds silly. Because now ten years later, the gospel is not an add-on to my writing but the framework for every story I have published. The story of who Jesus is and what He has done for us is the most compelling, inspiring, and overwhelming experience ever felt.

The character type of Jesus is the ultimate hero. Every good story tries to catch a glimpse of Jesus' character whether knowingly or unknowingly to compel the reader. Every person is compelled toward their Creator. It is His qualities reflected in characters that attract us to them. We desire to see true love, sacrificial love. And the truest love is the love of Jesus.

Today, I know this is what makes me love creating stories. For me, writing is a way to pursue Jesus. Through my writing, I get to work with Him to craft stories that show myself and my readers more of His personality, His hopes, His desires. Whether you know Jesus well or don't know Him at all, I hope you will catch a glimpse of Him when you pick up a book by the author Young-Gellion.

​Besides writing…I love to memorize poetry and am currently in graduate school for chiropractic.

Catherine Young-Gellion is my pen name. Young-Gellion comes from the Greek word euangelion. It means Good News or Gospel. Catherine means clarity or purity. So, together my pen name means clear Gospel.
